A
great line-up of Beehive Folk Club regulars
entertained a packed and
highly appreciative audience, which spread into the other coach. On the
return performers swapped between the ends of
the train to keep the audience happy.

A new record of 20 was

Crazy Crow seem to attract the
media! Last time it was BBC's Countryfile; this time we had Aminah Khan
from India, making recordings for her MA in Broadcast Journalism at Sheffield University.

Sheffield City Morris had better
luck with the weather than we had over the past two years. Guest spots
included expert clogging from Melanie and superb guitar work from Mike
Lydiatt.

Handsworth Sword Dancers had less
luck with the weather but managed to dodge the heavier showers and
perform the 'Lads and Dads' Sword dance and their renowned 'tup' play

Treebeard appeared in front of what
must have been a record audience but there was such a crowd that
members of the band were told they couldn't board the train on the

dancing in the aisles.

With the Sheffield Folk
Festival moribund for this year, we had something very similar to our
usual Festival review, basing the event around the recent Music for Malcolm charity session
at Kelham island Museum - Mobile
Music for Malcolm. We raised £200 - well done everyone.

After Oxjam pulled out
of the proposed charity outing, our old friends Scuppered stepped into the breach
and gave us an excellent evening..

The wintry
weather had set
in - and we didn't realise for how
long!
- but audience and performers braved the elements for
another excellent evening of more unusual Christmas songs, in
stunning four-part harmony, from the Sheffield
Folk Chorale.
