Our outing with m_c_cajun coincided with dire
warnings of snow storms and, judging by the phone calls I received
beforehand, asking whether the Folk Train was still running, some
people were obviously worried - especially those from the Dore area!
What they missed was a terrific evening on the train and in The
Rambler, enjoyed by band and audience alike.

Little
Else gave us some fine harmony singing in the pub, interspersed
with excellent music from
them and "friends" which also carried over onto the train.

Fagan's
Back
Room Band comprised of a fine group of
musicians and singers from legendary folk session venue, Fagan's (to be
found at the bottom of Broad Lane, Sheffield).
The only problem - my camera batteries
gave
out!.

Airs
&
Graces. Got them at last! After the "bit
of a misunderstanding"
earlier in the year, the promise that Airs & Graces would appear in
the April slot was finally
fulfilled. It was worth the wait!

The
Sheffield
Folk Chorale. It's something of a
logistics problem to accomodate the Folk Chorale on the Folk Train but,
that aside, we were treated to a fine selection of songs from around
the world.

let down by the June weather for the first time in several years but
the Dunkerque Spirit prevailed.

Minnie
Moosika. First time on the Folk Train,
Minnie Moosika kept us
entertained with an exciting mix of music from the Klezmer tradition
and from Eastern Europe.

Fingers crossed - after July's cancellation - but I
didn't
need to worry! An excellent evening, as ever, from Dave Young and The
Little Bigfoot Band.

Something different for Christmas I promised - something
different is what we got! What a fantastic evening with the New Orleans Strollers! The band said
they really enjoyed it and would like to come again.
